Happy (and Not So Happy) New Year Changes for Insurer Investments

As 2018 dawns, insurers face some rather interesting changes, real or potential, that can cause a slight rethinking of investment strategies.

These changes include, for many insurers, mark to market equities through the income statement and a host of consequences (intended and unintended) related to the lower corporate income tax rate.
