The California Government Code can be very restrictive in how JPA’s structure their investment portfolio; prohibiting asset classes outside of investment-grade fixed income. While investments are one piece of the enterprise, it can provide great support to a JPA’s operations. This session will review a case studies detailing how JPAs shifted from a portfolio concentrated in cash or local investment pools to a more diversified, robust portfolio strategy that adheres to the California Code.
